I am a designer, urbanist, and community engagement strategist based in Boston, Massachusetts.

I work where I live. I want to help build equitable neighborhood spaces and design processes and bring transformative architecture to fruition with people who don’t have access to the biggest budgets in the world. I started Ben Bruce Architecture to address these burning feelings, and learn how to co-create grassroots spaces that brings communities together.

I care about people, our stories, our cultural histories, and our communities.

I am looking to find answers to questions about what makes space just, healthy, and empowering to as many people as possible. I am interested in design solutions that address systemically rooted spatial and social injustices, and encourage people to dismantle the power structures that caused them. I am interested in spaces that uplift and empower those at the margins by telling meaningful stories about their culture through the co-creation of spaces, and providing space for joy where there were only barriers before.

I can take what assets any organization has, and build a strategy to create spaces that impactfully move the mission of that organization forward.

Oftentimes the people and communities I work with don’t have all the resources to see their future clearly. I believe that since space impacts the life of a person or organization and their dreams so directly - that space is where people imagine themselves when they dream - I am able to help a wide variety of perspectives to arrive at a collective vision for their future homes, parks, neighborhoods, community centers, and cities.
